FAQs

All you might want to know about installation,
operation and maintenance.

We recommend full cream milk or lite milk. Alternative milks like soy, almond or oat start to congeal when sitting still for extended periods of time. This can cause blockages inside the machine. We recommend a Dr Coffee machine that has a steam wand for those Alternative milk drinkers.

We recommend medium to medium/dark roasted beans and try to avoid coffee’s with a high amount of oil on the skin.

Yes. The recomended froth temperature is 60 degrees, but you can adjust this by turning the “frother knob”. This can be found in the “support” section of the website. Simply find your machine model and click on the corresponding video.

Your coffee might taste bitter due to one or more of these reasons:

Over-roasted beans: Dark roasts are often more bitter.

Over-extraction: Brewing too long or with too high a temperature pulls out bitter compounds.

Grind size: Too fine a grind can lead to over-extraction.

Water temperature: Water that’s too hot can cause bitterness.

Stale beans: Old coffee or pre-ground beans can taste bitter.

Poor water quality: Hard or bad-tasting water can affect flavor.

Brewing time: Too long a brew time (e.g., with a French press) can cause bitterness.

Adjusting any of these could improve your coffee’s flavor!

If your machine has been turned off for a while, we recommend that you make a latte and dispose of it, based on the consideration that the machine is not fully warmed up hence the taste may not be ideal.

Yellow warning signs suggests user maintenance, eg: the bean hopper is empty, please refill it. If you see a red warning sign, please contact us for support as the machine will most likely need to be serviced by a qualified technician.
